Very impressive work! The lighting and Light are mystical and because of that the entire composition is infused by an enigmatic silence.
The man is drenched in silence; he remains in it! Double contemplation: external and internal. The viewer and the image fuse into one.
I, as the observer, think of the silence and tranquility of the moonlit night and look out the window. My gaze is chased away from the depth of space, then goes backward and sinks into a state of unity with the sitting person, looking at him as if from the depth of distance.
This technique of the reverse perspective depth makes up a special divine composition. In that, the world forgets its materiality and becomes ethereal, like some faint shadows sailing over the face and figure. An amazing fusion effect strikes and you (the viewer) turn into one with the Captain, sitting at the window!
Being lost in a totally deep composition, I can look at it endlessly and travel through the circle of my own life in these moments!
